There's a large black beast whining and griping at me.... it seems I am 2 minutes late in going for a walk with the beast. Labradors are creatures of habit and my wife has given him some bad ones

Sounds familiar. Our Goldador is an exceptional timekeeper as she knows when it's mealtime with no alarms. Also gets steadily more annoying until you take her out. Then get pressure from my wife to do something useful but as she keeps reminding me I always find time for stuff with wheels! :D

Is that one of those rare Push Me Pull You double ended dogs ?

I had a pair of Goldens , they looked like that quite regularly. A lot of fun , a lot of shed hair too

This fat bugger rules the roost in our house - my wife and I can't do anything without his approval - considering he is a cat he never wanders - always hanging around and follows us everywhere - if we dare walk out of our drive for any reason ie just down the road to post a letter or have the audacity to go down the pub he appears from nowhere exiting our front hedge and starts howling - I have to go back and get him back in the house then close the front door and run out of the drive !

He has a cat flap in the back door but always goes to the front door at anytime day or night to be let out - if I'm not quick enough to his liking he scratches the carpet.

If we go away for a few days he really makes us pay for it when we get back ie more howling , scratching of said carpet , sleeping on our bed and getting me up at 3 am to be fed and let out etc.

Dexy
