HI Guys, bought my z4 (e89) end of may.....in with the deal was its next service due in july....problem is i dont know what service is due and the nature of the shoddy bmw garage i bought it from makes me worried they wont do what is required.
heres the deal.
Car had 27k on the clock......it says service due 11000 miles or July 13 (which is now)
i'm not sure of the service intevals mileage wise...but i'm guessing at 12k...so.....that means its last service would have been 26k...right???

so this service should be the 38k service?? Right??

anybody know what should be done so i can make sure they do it??? the service book has no stamp from the last service

There is no fixed servicing on your vehicle. It uses a CBS (Condition Based Servicing) schedule which is completely variable depending upon many different parameters, including distance and how you drive.

Have a look in the manual or alternatively the BMW website for more info.

ah ok...so she's told me they will use a 'key service' to make sure it gets everything it needs...this is what you are talking about right???

This will just be an oil service then, and maybe brakes.

Your idrive or OBC should tell you everything that is required.

from what i understand every 2 yrs the brake fluid should be changed and the oil if it hasn't been changed due to the mileage done i.e. if you only do say 5k miles a year even though the obd may say oil change due in 6k miles it should still be done after 2yrs :?

my zed had oil changed at 2 yr service having only done less than 11k

Does a "key service" not mean they take your key/fob and insert it into their reader and it feeds back what needs done...? This is what happened to me when mine was booked in back in May. It will definitely need serviced every 2 years if you are not doing particularly high mileage.

Yes, but you can see this yourself via the obc
