Who can install an aux jack?

As you clearly are not the mechanical type and we can guess neither is your other half ....take it to your Dealer .
It will cost but it will be done properly by those who know the Z4 not always the case with a car audio dealer unless you get solid references
 
Another quick question - my car has a cd changer between the seats. Is it possible to remove that and get some sort of adapter to plug the iPod in where that is? I just thought it might be a way to avoid having to remove the stereo, drill, etc. Plus, it would be pretty conventient to be able to plug my iPod in between the seats.

IIRC removing the multichanger is a major job according to earlier posts you have to remove large amounts of trim from around rear bulkhead

Easier to work at the front
 
The cd changer is a pain to remove, I wouldn't do yourself or bother with a garage. Theres no reason why your AUX output couldn't come through there and connect to your iPod. Mine both charges my iPhone and provides output for the AUX.
 
Thanks guys. As per my other recent post, I'm now seriously considering having the Dension Gateway 300 fitted. I love the idea of having the iPod (or USB stick) tucked away out of sight and being able to control it via the head unit.
 
Cassie I'm also in York, also want the AUX cable fitting and also rubbish at these sorts of things. Perhaps we could club together and pay a forum member to do both? :!:

Would be a good idea! I'm currently looking into the Dension product, however...not sure if installing that is more difficult or not :scratchhead:

Think this depends on where you want to mount the ipod. Most of the kit just sits in the boot (although you have to secure it somehow) as it replaces (and connects in to) the CD autochanger. I have a DICE kit and feeding the wire through the centre console was the most difficult part - I like to have the ipod in the cabin with me.

You're welcome. My DICE is routed through to the ashtray; I built up an Ipod/Iphone connection port into the ashtray inner, similar to the specdock (see http://specdock.com/). The original DICE lead wasn't long enough, but as I was building a lead into the ashtray, it wasn't really an issue.
