Who can code cruise control for Z4?

My 2009 Z4 E89 didn't come with cruise control. Following a few forum posts from people doing similar I sourced and got a garage to fit the stalks which included cruise control. However, when they went to code them they couldn't as they said it wasn't appearing as an option in their software on the 'vehicle order' for my car. I don't know what software they were using to attempt this with.
Obviously this was an option on this model but not specified for mine. They said I could try to get BMW to change the vehicle order to get it listed for my car but they weren't that hopeful they would.
I'm sure there's a way around this as others seem to have achieved this. I do have a cable and software but am a little daunted about trying myself. So anyone know a garage or person int eh Newcastle on Tyne area or North East who has experience of this and can code it for me to get it working?

Thanks

Geoff

Try giving Dean Winlow [email protected] a shout or visit his website. He has a garage in Ryton and re tunes and maps BM's so may be able to do what you want.
Tell him you were recommended by someone on the forum. I have just had mine serviced by him and he is as good as gold and very reasonable price wise

It doesn't appear as an option, you add it to the VO, it won't already be there.

Have you checked out my "How-To"?..... Here >> https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=107989

Coding is covered in Part 2, all you need to know, step by step instructions and a link to all the software you need (all perfectly legal as well, so nothing dodgy and from a virus/spamware free download site).
Alas I'm as far away from you as Nick9one1 is so can't really help directly.

thanks for that. i did actually explore this option and was going to be brace and give it a go. however, i failed at the first hurdle as after loading INPA and selecting 'functional jobs' on the right hand box there was no 'ReadUIF' button on my software. I therefore couldn't get any further. If I've misread or need to do something to correct this I'd love to know. Thanks

Did you download the software from the link I provided?

Hi - thanks. I uninstalled what I had a reinstalled and got a bit further. However, I can't find E89 listed anywhere - not in the boxes along the bottom or in the screen list menu. Do I have to go in as another model?

When looking for E89, are you scrolling? It should scroll all the way down to R50 (Mini)

Have a look at this video, shows you at 02:24 how to find e89...

While we are on the subject of coding, can you use coding to allow the roof to retract with one press of the button instead of having to keep it pressed.

I know you can but an adapter of some sort but it''s expensive

Sorry for my ignorance but don't know anything about the subject

Thanks for the tip. Actually the video is about expert I didn’t get that far, I was still inpa where I couldn’t find the e89.

I was thinking Comfort Access may be able to do this, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have it. Certainly without Comfort Access it's not possible without an after-market roof module, there are three available (that I'm aware of) and the top version being the SmartTop. I've got to admit that it is a bit of a "nice to have" item, but that depends on your personal requirements, and I decided that I wanted it :driving:

Yeah, sorry about that, I believe it's the E90 option in INPA but can't check at the moment as I'm at work and don't have access to it.

I wouldn't be without mine!

Opening on the move/ one touch etc., is only part of the benefits of the module.
