I've always assumed that's because you can easily respray a white car any other colour and the white won't show through. :)
 
There needs to be some kind of etiquette in here, it's a for sale thread - dont diss the guys price in his thread. By all means ask questions that he hasn't already answered and wish him good luck if you need to but why should it be any more than that.

For the record - I've no problem with well informed people offering an opinion.

And if it helps, it would sell for way more than the equivalent of 21k here in Oz, so maybe that makes it a bargain...?! ;-)

Couldn't agree more, he hasn't after all asked for our opinion
 
It is perfectly natural to support fair exchange and facilitate a sale by offering experience backed advice about pricing. The seller will not benefit by having a car they do not want parked in their garage for months on end.
 
Its good to give him feedback though... people telling him its over priced might help him consider a lower price and help it sell... I don't think its 'dissing' (god I hate that american crap slang) to tell someone it could be too high a price..

Agreed. Nobody has dissed him at all and most of us would be delighted if he achieved that price, but by putting a 'for sale' thread up on a forum you are implicitly inviting opinion on the content, including the price.
 
Wasn't there someone looking for a white one only a few days ago?

I doubt another one will come along with this mileage any time soon.

Worth every penny and certainly more than your average e89.

diss is not from America. It's actually Jamaican slang, so don't be dissing the word diss! :P

I had my posts removed a while back because I advised a user, that a car which they thought was good value, that there were better and that the price for the car in question was just about right, so god help you lot! Let's see if this one gets removed! :roll:
 
What sort of premium is being asked here for white?
Which does look good.
I am curious, I don't really follow the prices.
 
I would say 3 - 4k - although I don't know how many owners it's had or if it has BMW warranty

Saying that, I'm sure there is the odd buyer out there who wants a ultra low mileage M

I think the price is about right btw (as long as it has a good list of options).
It's a 2008, low milage example.

I'm not saying anymore on the price! I really hope he gets what he's asking though because if he does it will rebase in my mind what mine is worth.
 
So factoring in a white buyer, a bit of negotiation, and a decent spec, it isn't completely barking as an opening price.
