I own a White Z4 Roadster and have been planning to get the Alloys sprayed black. So far I have been looking at Satin Black but was curious to see if anyone has any other recommendations.

Personally think a dark grey or titanium looks much better than black but everyone will have a different view!

Black wheels with the white car will look the bee's IMO.

Had shiny black wheels with a silver car which was another combo that I liked and being shiny any kerb rash inflicted by my wife could be hidden by my teenage daughters black nail varnish. Strangely my wife said she never drove the car so I could never understand how any damage occured. :D

I would also de-badge the car and put back the correct ariel - depending on where anyone stands on ariels and which photo is being looked at!

Appreciate this is an E89 & a white car, where at first I found black were great though after a while found the black too heavy, whereas choosing a dark anthracite retained some form of fleck

Just had some 224s done in matt / frozen black , you always lose some definition of wheel style with black but can look good on right coloured car.

Personally I don't think black wheels on a white car looks good, I would much rather go for shadow chrome. Then again I am really not a fan of black wheels period! Looks are always subjective so you have to choose what you like best.

I actually really like the black on white for the e89.The Silver on white look too "Blingy" IMO .The dark wheels give it an edgier more aggressive look on what is a more understated body shell than the e85/86. If it were my car then that's what I'd have (or dark anthracite ) :driving:

I have painted 326 19" in gloss. When the wheels are clean and the tyres also shiny they look really good. When dirty they look dull and really lose some definition IMO. The downside is they are an absolute bastard to keep clean. Combined with gloss black grill, window tint and a small matt black wrap to the front centre lip to match the matt black of the lower parts of the front bumper (M Sport pack). I recently installed new tyres and they are still looking clean and black and help the look of the wheels.

As a black wheel bigot I think one of the key issues is that it’s very difficult in a photograph to get the lines and textures of a black wheel, in the flesh it always looks better...but they need to be clean and free from road film which seems to blend in ok with a silver finish...

As I think I've mentioned before, you need to spend time keeping the tyres ultra clean and shiny too.
Otherwise the black wheels can make them look really grey and faded. Although, this does seem much more noticeable on a black, or other dark coloured car.

You aren't alone - I feel just the same!
