white vinyl wrap

that WAS the plan mate - that line would have followed onto the bootlid and the rear bumper.

I'm thinking that white is gonna look classier and be appreciated by a wider spectrum of people.....
 
if it is that pattern i would go with the black.

if it was the whole car then white could look cool. or mix it up and do both... white wings and doors etc and that same pattern in black
 
Wraps , if done by a reputable firm, will have no long term effect on the car...totally reversible, should be no 'damage'. Wraps have been around about 10 years and are a special type of vinyl that slips and slides on the car so you can position it. It leaves no residue and when removed it looks exactly like it did before. Or should....if done badly, when removed you will find lots of scalpel cut marks where the vinyl has been trimmed. It's a real skill and just like a Chips Away franchise, a wrap franchise (like Totally Dynamic) is only as good as the guy who does it. It's a durable material though and won't chip / peel like a sticker, last's about 2 years. Doesn't 'shine' like paint though.

If you get stone chips that cut the wrap how do you fix them?
a. get some extra wrap and cut pieces to cover
b. use tippex
c. do nothing
d. do something else

Also do you need to notify DVLA of driver vehicle agency of the change - is it a change?

because it's done panel by panel you can replace that panel with a new one, the price is very reasonable for a panel
 
it's a change to the colour of your car, so you would need to inform them if it's used on the road.
 
The trouble with these things (much like having the car resprayed) you can't tell the quality from pictures on the interwebz.

As someone said earlier the final results you see all depend who did the job, you’d have to get down to your local/nearest place and ask to see some examples of their work, if you have any doubts then walk away and find another place, there are more of them about than you’d maybe think.
 
i agree about the quality of the individual and think that you should check out peoples work.

but, if you get it done, turn up and it is a s**t job either get them to do it again or dont pay them. not like they would have a chance to rip you off

I like the bumper idea but if it's glossy (looks like roof and bumper are original black sapphire) it might look odd against the more matt colour of the vinyl
 
He just has the front bumper.

re jetwash - from what i've heard as long as you don't have it too close then you should be fine.

most, if not all wraps come with a guarantee regarding damage to your paint. the only clause the paint shouldn't be damaged and is OEM.

i think mmm-five has a clear wrap on his car.
 
not, i was saying sixspeeds is white paint and a CF roof.

this guys looks like white wrap with black paint roof, just sayin it looks like a copy of sixspeeds with the roof and the bar on the bumper. :D

Only on the leading edges (whole front bumper, 30% of bonnet, mirrors, front lights) to protect the car from stone chips. Mine wasn't 'wrapped' per se, as that usually involves using a huge roll of vinyl that's cut as it's fitted. Mine had a 3M protection film applied by Paintshield, and it came in the form of pre-cut panels of film for the different parts of the car. You can buy extras to cover rear arches, doors, roof, 50%/100% bonnet, etc., but they weren't available when I got mine done.

It doesn't clean up/wax as well as paint though and in some lights it's quite easy to see, and you're not supposed to use TFR (traffic film remover) cleaner on it as it can make the clear film yellow/opaque, and they suggest you don't fire a high-pressure jet at it's edges either.

I can see plenty of dings & scratches in it from stones and grit, but nothing's perforated the film yet, and it comes with a 4/5 year warranty against certain things like lifting, yellowing, UV damage, etc. The UV one is important, as you don't want to take the film off in 5 years and see it's a different colour underneath.
