i think mmm-five has a clear wrap on his car.

Only on the leading edges (whole front bumper, 30% of bonnet, mirrors, front lights) to protect the car from stone chips. Mine wasn't 'wrapped' per se, as that usually involves using a huge roll of vinyl that's cut as it's fitted. Mine had a 3M protection film applied by Paintshield, and it came in the form of pre-cut panels of film for the different parts of the car. You can buy extras to cover rear arches, doors, roof, 50%/100% bonnet, etc., but they weren't available when I got mine done.

It doesn't clean up/wax as well as paint though and in some lights it's quite easy to see, and you're not supposed to use TFR (traffic film remover) cleaner on it as it can make the clear film yellow/opaque, and they suggest you don't fire a high-pressure jet at it's edges either.

I can see plenty of dings & scratches in it from stones and grit, but nothing's perforated the film yet, and it comes with a 4/5 year warranty against certain things like lifting, yellowing, UV damage, etc. The UV one is important, as you don't want to take the film off in 5 years and see it's a different colour underneath.
I have the same on my Zed. From the front it's not really noticeable , from the rear you can see it if you are looking for it. It all depends on the light. It is more visible on our 325Ci because it is a dark Blue, the new one is White. The pic I put in the Monthly competition shows it, bottom right corner above the wheel well

Just been looking at a company, been thinking about getting them to do some work on my DISCO, they have done an merc slr (owned by some footballer) and 911 in chrome silver, which is a bit much. The Veyron they have done in matt black and gold is pretty special, not sure i want to be seen in it, but niceto look at.

the mirror chrome slr was done for a blackburn footballer. ive seen it in manchester a few times. looks good, but very 'in your face' sort of styling. the quality is awesome though, i saw it up close and there are no imperfections.

There is a company near to me (sunderland) with a great reputation. I have asked them for a qoute in a bit of a mad moment.

Chaps let me know how you go quote wise, very interested in this (probably stealth mode matt black) for mine. It seems like a great way of getting a new look without compromising the resale value...
