White LED Number plate lights?

So which is better; a completely new LED unit with bright white LED's or just replacement bulbs which give off a warmer white colour? If anyone has any pictures of their numberplate bulbs mods then pop them up here (please)

Many Thanks

To get those bulbs to fit you will need to dremel the lip on the white bulb holder as it will not pass through the hole in the number plate (i tried similar ones and that style led bulb def will not fit!)

These style bulbs will fit without any dremelling:

So Aquazi, these bulbs that you suggested in your last post ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0464559806 ) they will fit without any alterations to the standard bulb holder and wont produce any error codes on the dashboard?

If this is so then count me in lol - Flebay here I come :)

Yep they fit with no alerations (as they dont have a bigger bulb holder)

There are no blown bulb sensors on the plates - so any bulb will do - however those eBay listing say they are CANBUS so even if they did it would work - however the down side of them fitting these resistors is that they can get a little hot. Had them on mine for a few months - with no problems.

Just to let people know that I bought these off eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-LED-Side-Light-501-T10-HID-no-Canbus-Warning-Errors-/330415228269?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cee48456d and they fit a treat and look fantastic - no bulb error signs etc...

Well worth the effort!!!

I've just fitted these. Really easy to do, I just took a bread knife and a cloth to prize the old ones out. The LED ones then come with a adaptor that fits into the old blub holder instead of the bulb.

Remember and test them before poping then in though as LED's wont work unless the polarity is correct.

I also wrapped some electrical tape around all the connections to help keep them snug.

I'll pop some pictures up ones it gets dark. :D

The first two pictures are with my D90's picture control set to standard and the last one is with my own costom picture control mode that makes colours apear warmer hense the blue. They are not actually that boy racer blue as that makes them apear.

I'm going to have to dim these a little though, the way it is I could pretty much get away with driving around in reverse. I'll try some resistors across them and see if I can get a nice glow that doesn't blind the person behind.
