Hi guys

I have recently got a 35i from a main dealer and I love it but there are a few white chalky wax remains on some of the plastics and some rubber seals, how do I remove these, my friend said some chemical guys tyre/trim stuff should do it but I wanted to ask here :)

Thanks

Quick wipe on and off. The longer you leave it, the shinier the rubber will be which is not want I wanted.

I had some of this on the car when I collected it.

GTechniq T1 removed it instantly and with ease.

I had similar white cloudy marks from wife's make up and odd hard water stain did some research and used Auto Finesse total agitated with a tooth brush ,ALL marks came out ,followed by Auto Finesse Spritz ,which left vinyl with a matt finish just like it left the factory , as usual I did a test area on my comp car first where the plastic bits door card ,dash.tunnell looked terrible , all came back like brand new with a matt finish , I thorouhly recommend these products ,

I would suggest you have to use a toothbrush or similar and Agitate your cleaning solution in to the surface of the vinyl . In conjunction with a cleaner as I said before I tried Auto finesse total which works , I tried this out fist on my comp car vinyl and door cards which were v v bad , and it worked ,just wiping over with a cloth may not be enough .

Odd, so what did you see when you originally thought it was fine? Did it come through again after a bit?

AG vinyl rubber simply masks the polish residue for a short period of time. You will need to clean it off before applying a restoring product.

AG fast glass works, a decent APC and a stiff detailing brush or household items such as chunky peanut butter and sensitive make up wipes work too.

I used the product with a cloth and the marks disappeared but maybe because it wet the area and I didn't think anything more about it until I looked a few days later and there it was again :headbang: I didn't press that hard with the cloth though so maybe I need to give it some wellie!

Guys, you need to clean and remove the polish residue first. All the products quoted above are trim or tyre dressings, so will mask it for as long as the product lasts.

All Purpose Cleaners (even the cheap Daisy cleaner from Tesco) will remove this with a soft brush. You can then wipe down the area with IPA/Panel Cleaner before applying a trim dressing.
