Anyone got any valium or similar I can give to my wife before I kill her, she is currently dancing round the house shouting the fact she is on holiday and so excited about going to Islay.

Still car pack 47 about to occur, got a Blue Tooth unit fitted yesterday despite one major scare when all the central locking, roof operation etc stopped working, I'd spotted an unconnected Blue wire from my Remote Roof Module and unplugged the plug before hunting out the fitting instructions, then tried to operate everything with said plug disconnected, que 2-3 minutes of panic before the penny dropped and manic laughter ensued

Pawn, not sure what's worse the fact you are posting while still in bed or the fact you the means to do so while still in bed :poke: . GET UP!!!!!!!

1 hour and 3 mins to go until ROAD TRIP commences! :)
*Okay, as passenger with Pawnsacrifice, however, looking forward also to KFC en-route :P

..!

Tehehe RichardG!! *me jumping up and down - We are on holiday, and we're going to Scotland soon!!!

Any tricks to reserving some boot space, my driver has been nit picky about space, but when he arrives, joy will commence about getting my stuff in the car :)

But am so excited about going to ISLAY! WOohoo. Nosa, see you and everyone else soon !! (Or half a day's drive and more)

Well, NIGHTSHIFT IS OVER!!!

Now just need to pack and wash the car. And sort out something which I hope I won't regret - all will become clear on Islay...

Righto - After breakfast in god's county I'm now in gods country, and after a brief pitstop for some work in Airdrie I should be in Falkirk for tea :)

p.s. Packing's much easier solo - I've got spare room for a midget in the boot if that's any use!

Shooter, not sure if you're online, but in case it was on your list I have been advised...

You should be fine on the main roads, but I'd be careful on the minor roads. Don't even think about taking a Z4 down the track to Kilchoman distillery. Several normal cars have come to grief there.

Ain't that the truth and it can be just as bad on the mainland in places. I left several layers of paint off my front bumper on the single track road between Carnassarie and Cladich last night on an early evening hoon. Was well worth it though! :driving: Some of the roads around here (Inveraray) are unbelievable good and about as close to empty as you could realistically expect. The A819 is an absolute belter.

Ok guys i'm starting to think this trip is cursed for me, i have just posted this on the M section of the forum & thought i best keep you guys up to date.

What a day from hell, i'm meant to be going to Islay tomorrow with some forum members, well knowing that i'm going to sunny Scotland i thought it would be a good idea to fit some new rear tyres to my z4mr, how wrong could i be, the tyre fitting knobs have cracked not one but both rear rims , was then told they will replace both wheels free of charge but after getting in contact with BMW they will not arrive until around seven days.
Has anyone else experienced issues with standard M rims?

Thats the bad news, the good news for me & my mate is that we are still coming but in my other car which is not going to be quite the same but at least i get to come. :)

You're a hero for still coming mate, good on you. Unlike that useless turn coat Siftah! :P

...and very popular with PC Plod at the weekends.

Oh malc your always worried about the plod...... don't know why though your 4 pot won't break the speed limit anyway :fuelfire:

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow, some of us still have work today..

Just wondering- what time do we aim to arrive at the campsite for? Not sure if I should take food with me or pop down to Port Charlotte once the tent is pitched.

Welcome to Scotland! 308 miles done and reached Kirtlebridge! Went past bad crash on M1 between J41 and J42. Lorry mounted middle barrier heading South so Northbound one lane closed. Southbound was closed with miles of tailback.

I'm in Scotland! :). So excited! :P

We have arrived at the hotel, roof down all the way SWMBO has discovered a secret weapon in the war to keep warm.
Now contemplating alcohol and food.
JP we were going to hit the coop once the small and compact was pitched.
Roll on the morning. :D

Sounds like a plan - might just get some simple provisions (such as tea/coffee/beer) and buy the rest tomorrow.

That's my plan, although I do have a few burgers I'll chuck in the boot for tomorrow night (suppose I'd better get a BBQ too...)

Richard et al who're staying in Falkirk tonight - iI'll pop down later but will text one of you first. Just in from work and have a car to pack and a new toy (not car related) to build first :)
