Whining and arch rolling

Oh bloody hell.

So today I took off the back wheels, initially heated and then thought oh stuff it, and cut away the plastic wheel arch liner where it was rubbing on the tyres.

Wheels back on - NOISE IS STILL THERE :x :x :x

Could it be the front tyres? There's no way I'll get a spacer on the front wheels - the tyres are 225/35 ?
 
what fitment are the fronts wheels?

i would park the car full lock and see if the wheels touch anything?
 
Exactly the same size as mine...

Are you sure they are rubbing on the plastic close to the access flaps to the lights?
 
SLightly bent break guard at the rear?

We were fitting CSLs to my mates E46 M3 and he dropped the wheel and it caught the break guard lip. No damage but on driving off it was whining.
took a while to figure it out but bent it out my a mm and sorted.

No rubbing marks at the front, but did have them at the rear

ooh lordy - yes indeed - turned out to be crap in or around the wheel bearing! Had it squirted with a compressor and sprayed with WD40 and now it's gone :)

Same here - I was worried the rear wheel bearing would need replacing, which isn't cheap, but this was lubricated back in May and hasn't returned :)
