Which Z4 to buy with £15,000?

I am 23 and have owned my Z4 3.0 since just after my 22nd birthday which cost £1060 with no no claims bonuses. This year my new quote came in at £960 with one year no claims so i am hoping next year it will go down even more.

Both times insured with Bell (part of the Admiral/Elephant group)

Billy / Srhutch

Both Zeds look really nice, if you are still looking to sell around April next year drop me a message!

ps. I'm in Bath area, but also have family in Surrey who I visit often, where abouts are you both based?

Looks like the 3.0l is definitely the way to go! Cheers for the advice guys

Thanks for that, interesting that you had no problems on the insurance. Maybe I should have also pointed out that last Xmas I picked up 6 points for speeding, which might be part of the reason quotes have been on the heavy side! Having said that, I'll certainly have a look at the 3.0l. Can I ask, who are you insured with?

Thanks

Pete
I'm insured with Noel Dazely (broker). Admiral group is usually good for most of us under 25s, though - they insured me for £1,000 or so last year, but didn't really drop a great deal, if at all, so went with a broker for a bit of a discount.

By the way, Peter, I'm probably going to be selling next year at some point between April/May and July (when I'm 25). My car's one of the best kept 03 cars around (people at the meets can verify that!), and has lots of its history recorded on here, plus receipts for lots of common work (springs, bushes, seatbelt control unit). It's about to tick over the 60k mile mark, but I have a transferable BMW warranty that I'll be including with the sale. It'll also be a lot under your 15k budget!

Obviously I'll be doing a much more detailed post in a few months time, but just to let you know.

Thanks Spud, what is the spec on your Z4? Would certainly be interested to hear more nearer the time of sale!

I was just browsing the net and found a review of the Z4 from Whatcar - interestingly they are recommending the 2.0SE - would anyone agree with that?

If you're bothered about running costs or you just want to pose then go for a small engined one, but if you want to actually have thrills from driving it then you need a 2.5, 3.0 or M. Depends what you want! Think of the 2.0 as a heavier MX-5, if you ask me.

My car is 3.0i, 03 (August), 59,8xx miles, comprehensive BMW warranty (transferable, expires end of November 2011), mot to Nov 11, tax to July 11.

In addition to usual 3.0i spec (e.g. xenons), it has:

falken 452 tyres (better than the runflats lots of cars are sold with), full BMW service history, original Z4M (style 224) upgraded alloys, uprated brake pads (Redstuff on fronts, Brembo on rears), uprated stereo (10 speaker one), gradient tinted windscreen, storage pack/nets, cruise control, K&N uprated filter, sound generator mod done, stubby aerial, heated/elec/memory seats, wind deflector, aftermarket bluetooth. Plus a couple more I've forgotten: basically most things available on an 03 model except nav.

I haven't thought about pricing yet as I'm not ready to sell - it won't be the cheapest 03 around though, because frankly it's better than most of them, with the history to show for it.

It could be a clear price that might be good for the car. A Z4 was a best model that could be comfortable while in driving. It was a best value for the Z4 and can beat it.

I read this 5 times and still
Don't understand what your saying lol
