Which Z4 is being recalled

Yes, we are pampered these days.

Possibly another factor is the size of the steering wheels these days - back in the 70s most of them were huge, which gave much more leverage.

I hope you can get yours sorted.

Hoping that an auto electrician mate of a mate can have a look this weekend. If it's still shot, I will be sending the motor/ecu to ecu testing.

Plus as a rule of thumb tyres are wider & cars are heavier :?

Right - ECU Testing do seem to be highly rated.

But as Smartbear says wider tyres and heavier cars don't help!

I bought a Rover P6B 3500S in 1979, and Rover decided not to fit PAS to the manual S version - even on 185s with the standard bus-like steering wheel parking it was a work-out! The one I looked at with a smaller Momo wheel was almost impossible to steer below 20 mph! :o

My 2006 Elise never had power assisted steering & was rated as one of the best cars for steering “feel” ever made :driving:

No, but it didn't weigh anything did it?

My MK2 Escort RS2000 didn't have PAS, but it didn't need it either!
