Which Z4 2004 Model To Buy!?

Hey guys i am looking to buy a 2004 z4 model and im just wondering what are the main differences with 2.5 and 3l models? which is better ? less problems and less maintenance cost?

Hmmmm I think there are lots of threads on this but for my opinion, go for the 3l, I have had mine for a month or so and it's cost me nothing and certainly no more than a 2.5 would have cost. Go large, go 3l. :evil:

They both have the same M54 engine so will have the same issues.

Comes down to tax and insurance i guess.

Not much to choose between them... so just go on extras, condition, milage & service history

thanks for reply guys, well i am in Sydney Australia, and theres a 04 2.5l with 102000km auto for $21k and theres a 2004 3l one with 62000k manual for 28k, which would you guys suggest based on this

You're not comparing like with like apart from the engine size, there's a big difference in mileage, they are both using different transmissions and a 7k difference in price - no mention of condition, history etc, what your budget is or some way to determine how cheap/expensive those 2 cars are compared to others in the area.

Personally, I would prefer the 3.0 Manual - then again I would say that because I have one. When I bought it, it was the right car for me. You'll need to do the same, weigh it up in terms of what you want.

Practically nothing if the same as European market, though as Middle East & Asia sometimes get the latest models earlier your facelift may have come in earlier but for us it's the 05/06 plate where the changeover occurred.
