White, yellow or red can look ok, and even then it depends on the finish and style of the wheels.

Thanks to all who responded - must admit that I was a little bit surprised at quite what a landslide decision it was!

I appreciate that the photo of the black wheels wasn't the best - those of you who are going to ZedFest will get a chance to see them in the flesh. I won't take offence if you come over and tell me how awful they look!

I'll be keeping the black wheels on the car for a little while, as the steel ones need refurbing and a new set of rear tyres - and I also because I want to have some time to see whether I like the black wheels myself!

But don't be too surprised if you see them in the For Sale section in a couple of month's time :-)
 
Personally I wouldn't be too concerned about what others think. It would be a sad world if we all liked the same things. I'm in the same boat as you are at present. I got a negative reaction when I posted pics of my zed on Lionhart RC1's which are gold in the centre with polished rims. My car is Maldives Blue and comments suggested that the colours didn't go together. I disagree and really like them, although I have kept my 108's in case I change my mind. I'll be at Silverstone too, so we can cry in our beer together if we become the focus of too much ridicule! :rofl:
 
Slightly off topic but I'm going to have my wheels refurbed and was thinking of going to The Wheel Specialist and having the black chrome finish. My ///M is interlagos and I thought a darker shade of silver would look better than black.

Anyone done this? Any thoughts?

Only thought I have is that I'd like to see it as I'll need to refurbish my OEM wheels one day and I've often wondered about a darker colour.
 
Mine is on CSLs, so would look different - but if you want non-silver (sometimes i get the impression silver can look a bit bright against brighter blue cars..) then Shadow Chrome, Gun Metal and Hyper Graphite are good alternatives, just takes the edge off of it.

Love the shadow chrome CSLs against the red. I'm going to have to get saving up. What price are you looking at for a new set?
