Which wheel bolts?

Guys

With my wheels getting refurbed, i dont really want to stick on nasty rusty bolts

So what are my options?

Humm - i was looking for one better than BMW as they go rusty.
Anybody bought any from EBAY?
 
Thought I would resurrect an old thread but I am looking for some new bolts as mine are rusty. Anyone got any recommendations for some that aren't going to look rusty and tired after a few weeks?
 
Spray paint them - black enamel paint, £7 in Halfords :

I've only just done mine, no idea how long they will last until the paint chips, but they look lovely right now and I have more paint :thumbsup:
 
That's not a bad option at all, got plenty of hammerite in the shed :thumbsup: May need to get the wire brush on them first though, which will no doubt result in bleeding fingers and lots of expletives.
 
You can get little wire brushes for a few quid, and as you're only painting the tops there's plenty thread to hold on to. They're like toothbrushes and the shape means you can get in the bowl in the top of the bolt. Then get a small cardboard box, turn upside down, cut small crosses in it with a Stanley knife and push the bolts through. Spray or paint, job done :thumbsup:
 
Took me a evening swiftly - 20mins to clean them up, 3 coats, 20mins between each. Then left the for 24hrs. They were off the car because I had spacers on and different bolts with my winters, but srhutch had suggested just taking one nut out each wheel, doing the 4, replacing and doing the next 4 - saves taking wheels off.

Yep, a good option - had them on my car for over a year until I changed wheels. 2 problems - I couldn't find one that was designed to cover the locking wheel nut (though I stopped using locking wheel nuts - different story), and with the 224s the rear bolt holes are too deep to get them off with the little metal tool without the risk of scratching the alloy...

You could actually stop using locking nuts with these though, as there is no way to easily get the caps off without the little grip tool.

Nice on Bing, I have some spare bolts I bought off fleabay and then decided not to use, so they will now come in handy to use whilst I spray the original bolts
