Which sound system do i have if i have a Gray HU with "Business" on it? also has two speakers behind the seats? one of which is buzzing!! and driving me mad lol

I don't know what Basic is like, but I'm well impressed with my Hifi system 8) 8) So if you can do it I would, I should imagine you'd get a lot of your money back when you come to sell the car as Basic may put people off??

The buzzing is a built in feature of the "basic" system

When you have the sub behind the seats and midrange near the headrest you have the hifi (10 speakers in total). You could check if you have a amplifier next to the battery.

Where have you read this? I thought it was quite an involved job?

as far as i can tell i have 1 speaker behind each seat, CD multi changer in the middle and 2 in the front i think?? why is the basic system called "Business" lol

Your dealer will gladly install a wasp into each speaker for you. They will be OEM wasps ofcourse

If you have cubby holes behind the seats, then you have the basic system. You can upgrade the speakers quite easily ( 6.5" in the footwells, tweeters by the door mirrors and the mids behind the seats) ,then you can add mid ranges to the unused holes behind the grille in the doors connecting them to the tweeter wires.This alone will lift the sound quality massively. The OE speakers really are nasty cheapo things. I went the whole hog and added a dirty great amp in the boot and am soon to add a separate sub in the boot If I can get it in.If not I'll run with what I have as it sounds great.Do a search and there are some install threads which you'll find useful.

Agreed - its why I went specifically looking for a coupe with Hifi / DSP

The boots massive on the Z4 Roadster, i had 2 12" pioneers at one point which i later swapped to a JL 10w6v2.

im rubbish with this whole ICE thing, any idea which new speakers i shoudl be looking at other wise i might just pop to Halfrauds and get them to decide for me lol

Never go to halfrauds. see if you can get a like for like replacement for the one that's buzzing. Ebay is your best bet.

Be warned there were 3 different versions of that speaker for different systems.

Unless you like deep bass then you're better off just keeping it stock or the price will begin to climb.

I would like to replace all of them really with better ones, surely you can just find out what size they are and then look for a better example??
