We have a 1.6d Qashqai tekna... I hated the look but the wife wanted it as it drove like a car.... My preference was a vw tiguan... But the boot was too small.
Its grown on me... The leather seats are ok... But the 360 camera's are brilliant... However we had to spec the rear parking sensors separatly.

Repeating some of the comments here but after considering a few of your options myself, I found the boot on the tiguan was no bigger than a golf, so a bit pointless if you want the bigger car for being practical. My favourite on your shortlist would be the X3 but I would keep an eye out for the SD model, which has the same engine as the 335D with 286bhp and 428 lbs/ft of torque! 0-60 in 6.6 seconds will surprise quite a few things on the road 
Pretty sure there was a facelift which improved engine efficiency also reducing the tax into the £290 bracket.

). Just being too fussy with what to replace it with, hence finding the X3 in my search but its probably not a likely consideration. I've had a CRV from new almost 12 years ago. May not be the best on fuel consumption but other than servicing and tyres, it has cost me nothing - as in nothing has gone wrong in 150,000 miles, unlike the Z4 which seems to have built in redundancy. Really comfortable and has got me through floods and snow where estate cars have failed others.
