Which single DIN adapter?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on which single din adapter best matches the colour of the grey vents in my 03 Z4 se.

I only seem to be able to find black plastic ones which look terrible with the grey vent.

Which would people recommend?

For what it is worth, I tried two of the most readily available single DIN adapters, so I could switch to a Pioneer single din AM stereo. Having looked at them both in the car I just couldn't bring myself to do it, they looked awful, poor gapping, cheap appearance. My winter project if and when I ever get time is to fit the single din Pioneer into the rear cubby between the two seats. It will be a big job but at least I won't screw up the look of the facia.

A little bit dramatic I feel and why on earth would you want a stereo behind you that you can’t see the display?

I have the black one and it really doesn’t look that bad as the interior has enough black and grey items to help it blend in well enough, it’s a Z4 not a Rolls Royce Silver Spur.

Not cheap looking when fitted (imo). No gaps, perfect fit. I just sprayed my vents black to match and I'm really pleased

I’ve ordered the same facia as you (in black) I agree it looks good.

I’m going to try the other way and spray the facia to match the vents

A little bit dramatic I feel and why on earth would you want a stereo behind you that you can’t see the display?

These things are personal, I have had a long standing interest in car audio sound quality. The main reasons are:

• I Don't need to see the display, will drive head unit from app on phone and/or remote control.

• My main priority is good sounding audio and sufficient power to be able to drive the custom sub woofers I am designing which have drivers with low sensitivity (84dB/w). I need a 4 channel pre-amp out to be able to balance the front and rear SPL as the fronts have 90dB/W sensitivity)

• The rear of the car is better from an electrical distribution point of view, the amp will need to go into the boot, so the phono leads can be shorter to minimise interference, the subs will be in the rear cubbyboxes, the battery is in the boot. I will only need to take two twisted pairs from the rear cubby to my three way crossovers for the front speakers which are located on the transmission tunnel, forward of the cigar lighter, so 1m of twisted pairs all that is required

The downside is I will need to remove the rear cubbybox to fit it. But I would rather do that than put an AM radio into the facia that I will need to look at everytime I drive the car. The standard business CD player is styled really nice into the car and I do not want to ruin that.
