Hi there all.
As some of you will know I bought a Z4 Coupe back in Feb off a forum member (Rally-Chris). So far excellent (apart from pesky ABS motor, but we move on), just flown through MOT with no advisories, and now the service indicator is showing around 5,000 miles until next inspection.
Trouble is I am having a difficult time working out which one that will be.
Last formal inspection was at 55,000 miles in Sep 2014, and was an inspection 2. This was completed by the previous owner but one (one before Rally-Chris). Itemised on the receipt included oil change, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, brake fluid, coolant flush and air con recharge. Also the full inspection.
Car is now on 81,000 miles. Since the above service the car has had 3 oil changes, 3 brake fluid changes, front and rear brake pads, suspension overall, water pump, gearbox oil, diff oil, battery and others, but no formal inspection. The spark plugs have also been changed by Rally-Chris since they weren't explicitly mentioned in the above service.
I've just ordered 8l of oil, oil filter, air filter and micro filter, and realised it might make sense to combine as part of a full service (I'll use up the 5,000 before the end of the year).
Any suggestions on what you would do? Inspection 1 or 2? Reason I ask is 30,000 miles seems quite long between the previous inspection 2 and an inspection 1, or does this sound right?
Thanks and regards.
