Which second key?

My third key was tucked away in a small pocket within the booklet folder if thats of any help to people. Its a lot smaller than the remote key so could easily be hidden!

Same with mine (although it's gone missing now!)

I only got one key too. Independent traders for ya :x

BMW charged me, err, about £125 for a new main key and the plastic key all in. Not bad at all imho. Keys came in two days.

Just need to take the V5, photo ID and a bill to them to confirm identity etc... ie, just like when buying number plates.

Well worth getting it sorted, you'd be well stuck without any keys!

i lost my girlfriend's plastic key for her 2006 Z4. any idea how much this will run (in US dollars)

As long as you have the two remote keys I wouldn't worry, my new 1er only has the two remotes as do lots of members on here looking at this thread.

What sort of person "loses" the keys anyway? I always ensure that there is a full set of ketys with any car I buy. If not merely for the practical point, it says something about the previous owner that would disuade me fom purchasing.

Do they keep the keys as some sort of trophy? The car was bought with 3 keys and four fitted wheels among other hardware, I'd expect the same when it comes to selling.

The plastic key does has it uses though.... after i read on here ppl saying its waterproof i decided to test this first in a glass of water and then took the plunge so to speak and went to cornwal armed just my plastic key attached to my wrist band and went surfing.
