Which one?

Everyone knows my answer, there is no better car than the RRS. Ok he interior isn't great, but what a bloody car, speak from experience, have one for 3 years....Zermatt from here still has his, and I'm sure he will say the same thing. A lot of car for the money. Wrong time of year to buy it though and prices head north, but wait 3 more months maybe...
 
I used a new RRS and it is a major improvement over the old one by the way, now got all the toys as well. But obviously out of budget range.
 
The budget was 18k with a 7k trade in..so its actually 25k...iv been looking at a few but im not sure any of them are actually better than my murano for mile munching comfort.....
 
I might keep the Morano and stick this kit on it.....

The RRS with the 3.6 TDV8 is lovely. Hardly slow with 0-60 in about 8 seconds!

My old man has one and its a nice truck. Fully loaded and very nice, but not as big as you may think!

Personally I would go for a Disco 4. Should be able to get one for £25k

It is compared to the X5 with 6 seconds :P
 
Yep, fair enough by those standards, but when you come to a grassy field, your journey is over in a X5 or other similar vehicles.

I would say its quick for a vehicle that has a very large towig capacity and is very good offroad!

If you want something to be fast, surely a 530d would be a better choice! To be honest, I don't really get X5s Q7s etc. They have all the downsides of large 4x4 vehicles without the positives of a proper 4x4!
 
If a Q5 is on the list then what about an XC60. We have an R design top spec - very comfortable and not slow either. Nicer looking than an XC90, Q5, Q7 too. We tested a RR - never seen a fuel gauge drop just by looking at - nearly gave me a heart attack.

All very well as long as you don't mind looking like the local gangster. Every neanderthal "security consultant" in my area drives some ridiculous RRS/RR. Worse image than Burberry check!

Same can be said for any 4x4. White Q7 /White RR/ old X5s driven about by wannabe gangsters!

I still think a Disco 4 would be the best for £25k.

You won't have the drug dealer look, possibly one of the best all round vehicles on the road, but not as fast as say X5 as already pointed out!

Winter tyres transform road holding I am glad to say. On summer tyres, the cars are useless on snow etc. Where they "win" over a 530 or so is that with 4 wheel drive / winter tyres and snow, the X5 will get anywhere.

Unfortunately, a 530 is too small for us with two children at uni - means the X5 is loaded to capacity each time and we can actually get there irrespective of snow conditions :)
