It’s pretty much all mostly been said Neo....but just to add a quick one as currently I, greedily, have both.... :roll: you need to think hard on what your priorities are simply because you really cannot compare these two cars as similar if you’re going to keep it standard, it’s not like choosing a Rolls Royce over a Bentley where it probably comes down to personal preference, these two Zeds really are chalk and cheese, a very good all rounder that responds well to some choice tweaks, has effortless torque as standard and a nice, if too long throw, gearbox, the 35i, especially for the money, is a good good car, the Porsche will kill it on twistys no matter what mods you throw at it, but still a very capable fun car that’s comfy too. The M...well, mad as a box of frogs roller skate if you mash the throttle, lacks low down torque, stock suspension is skip fodder, dreadful on rough roads, gearbox and clutch quite heavy, thirsty as they get, tax is high, all the maintenance you’ve read already, a truly love or hate car, no in between with this, but get one on a nice road, open it up, and no E89 can give you what an M can, you can get ooodles more power from an E89 but that’s not the point, you can’t have the slick, solid once warmed, feel of the M’s gearbox, the S54 howl, the LSD, suspension is fine on smooth tarmac, just the overall experience of these cars, for pure fun the M boots the E89 out of the park.....but I wouldn’t want one as an all rounder....
