which oil?

checked the search but theres no definite answer.

need to top up mine as i have the amber oil can light on when i turn the car off.i checked halfords and it seems they list this particular oil for my 3.0i. is this correct?

it says it meets BMW LL 01, but someone said to use BMW LL 04. what's the differences?

Thats what my indy uses - I would prefer Castrol Edge as thats LL04 but the engine has done 105k so I guess LL01 will be fine!!

If you change the oil every year or 8k/10k max then either should be fine 8) don't leave it years or max the miles not good :thumbsdown:

For what it's worth - BMW main dealer have started using 0w 40 oil in my car.... used it last week for oil service. Car has done 80k

Interesting ? my previous petrol BMW was on 0w30 from Sytner's up to my purchase at 60k , Indy uses 5w 30 .
Are you happy on 0w40 ?
