Which oil for a 2005 z4 3.0i

I use Castrol edge 5w-30 fully synth when available and as you say that's what the Castrol site recommends.

Don't have my handbook close by, but believe that's what it says too for normal UK conditions in the M54 engine
 
all oils that will have the bmw LL04 designation will be ok!

i use castrol edge 05w30 LL04

bought in germany check out ebay for great deals.
 
Im using 0w-30 Castrol SLX/Edge LL01, its much quieter running since changing the oil last weekend. I thought the 5w-30 Edge was for the newer engine (not that it will make the slightest difference!).
 
5W-30 LL04 for me too. and i have used both castrol and halfords own (fully synthetic),without any probs/for topping up purposes,while my local bmw dealer uses shell helix ultra,for services.
