Which oil for a 2.0 Z4?

Hi, just a quick question...

Which oil should be used for my 2007 2.0 Z4?

The Castrol website says 0w-30 however I was under the impression Edge 5w-30 was ok as well?

Any thoughts? Thanks.
 
I got 5w 30 for mine, cant imagine its any different for the 2.0.

If you plan to change it in 6 months then there is no harm i. 0w30... Prob offer a bit more cold weather protection... But think it costs more, and as we dont live in Siberia its prob not worth it!!

When you say leftover has it been open? If opened for more then a few years its prob not worth using it.

I got 2x4L (as it was much cheaper then a 4l and 3x 1L) castrol from Eurocar parts for under £50... Think they have a sale on now so worth looking.

No I only got it last month so it should be fine!

Had the engine management light come on yesterday, not sure what it could be, maybe a sensor in the exhaust?

Could be anything i'm afraid; you'll have to plug it in and read the code. The 2.0 do seem prone to the EML. Hopefully its just a (cheap) O2 sensor and not the manifold or cat which the 2.0 is prone to having issues with.
 
Well plugged the code reader in and it found one fault code "N/A" though which isn't much help! Ha.

I've turned the EML off though, see if it stays off. My GTI used to throw it up every now and then but it usually went off after a day or two.
