Which OEM headlight?

Hi,

I'm just curious... If I wanted to buy a pair of new OEM headlights for my car with no orange hockey sticks, which ones would be correct? I've been looking on here: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E85/Roadster/Europe/Z4_3.0i-M54/RHD/N/2005/browse/lighting/headlight/

I have no idea if my current headlights are halogen or xenon. I supect the former as they don't appear blue at all, but am unsure how to tell 100%. I've read that some people have had problems with aftermarket headlights leaking.

Thanks!

You can tell if they are OEM halogen or xenon by looking at your light control module. Halogens have the wee dial which raises/dips the lights whereas xenons don't as they are self-levelling.

As for aftermarket, I have a set of aftermarket halogens which I've had no problems with.

Thanks Jimmy. Do you mean a dial inside the cockpit? I'll have a look!

Yeah it's in the cockpit to the right of the steering wheel under the vent.

Cassie if you look at the switch where you actually turn the headlights on.
If you have Halogens there will 2 roll switches one for the dash illumination and the other to adjust the height of the headlights.
I you only have 1 roll switch you have Xenons.

Lol you guys are too good! Thanks Adam :-) Is there a clear (no orange hockey sticks) oem headlight that I could buy?

Thanks

Yes - direct from BMW halogen clears are about £350 each. Might get a little discount off that. Thta's why the guys cut them up and fit clear indicators from damaged lights, or some buy the aftermarket at half the price.

Sometime you can find 2nd hand clear halogen pairs on eBay for c.£300

It's a waiting game, but worth it when a set come up
