Which model

Firstly, apologies I really have a very basic knowledge of cars, so forgive any stupid questions!
I have had my Z4 for nearly 7 years and am looking to upgrade it in a year or so. What I can't figure out, is exactly which version it is, so I'm hoping someone may be able to help, so that I can figure out its value.
It's 07 registered and definitely a sport, but it has "M" badges (front, rear, alloys, steering wheel etc). It's a 2l.
The closest I can find that matches, is a Z4 M Sport, but I cant find evidence that they were made that early?
Can anyone help?
Thank you very much

Hi, It sounds like a 2litre sport model as opposed to the se version, the m badges front/rear shouldn’t be there.
In actual fact it’s a good idea to remove them before the M police get here :P

Thanks, but that would involve a new steering wheel and new alloys. They're not just stuck on, they're inserted in? Granted, the badges on the front and rear could have been retrofit, but someone has gone to a lot of expense to fit new alloys and steering wheel to make it look like an M?

Strangely, you'll get away with the wheels and steering wheel as these are 'acceptable' upgrades.
However, the wanton slapping on of M badges to the front, rear and flanks is frowned upon by the purists.
If you remove them you may well end up with shadows on the paint that are hard to completely eradicate. I think I'd be tempted, if putting it up for sale, to mention the extra M badges, how they were there when you got it, and how very simple they are to remove. Technically not a lie, as they will come off easily.

I meant to remove the badges on the front & rear that shouldn’t be there, the others were included as part of the sport package & are mainly cosmetic extras.

M Sport badges? :police:

Search for Vin Decoder on the forum and there'll be a link to a decoder that will tell you info on the car.

Go onto Autotrader and you'll see other cars from that year. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/

Other than that post some pics of the car and we will work out what you have.

As has been said, 2.0 Sport with added M badges by the sound of it.

Ok, thanks, I'm happy to accept the badges were added on, if the alloys and steering wheel "M"s were part of the package. That would make sense. Thank you

If your car is an 07 registered 2 litre it will be an E85.

There were two trim levels then, SE and Sport. All Sport models had M badges on the steering wheel and often on the road wheels - depending which wheel style was fitted, plus the sought after M-Sport seats. But any other M badges have probably been added by an 'over-keen' owner!

ETA Oops, pretty much what Rob said.

Perfect, thank you. I've checked the Vin information as Skelters suggested and it's come up that it came with the full "M" pack -suspension, seats, wheels, steering wheel etc. So I can see the badges must have been added later.

Thanks all!
