Which Members have Carly and Where?

Mines a 2004 pre facelift. Im using android and the Bluetooth adapters. I would of thought that a facelift model would be the same, no need for a cable surely??

I got the adapter but it wouldn't work so had to buy a cable.

If you bought GEN2 adapter (£45) then you also need this http://amzn.eu/d/0GYM1Hp additional adapter £11 to make it work with older cars such as <2004 E85

still confused.. are we talking about the 2006 facelift ? so a 2006 needs a cable as well ?
this seems impenetrable .........
so what do i need for a 2006 pre facelift 2.0 ??
i see a small white dongle a big black dongle, and i see a cable with the old connector ..

You don't need the cable. IF you want to play it safe, get the GEN2 Bluetooth Adapter (for Android)

AND Get this additional piece:

what does the bigger black additional one do ?

Make them more money!

Basically, the older cable supports less vehicles, in fact it only supports the older eg < 2004 E85 and a few others. The New GEN 2 adapter supports pretty much all the other models. The black "add-on" basically slows down the protocol to work with older cars too. That's kinda the gist of it

Rugby, Warwickshire... don't mind coding for free if people want to come to me!

RyanB88, I'm assuming you have the N52 engine in your Z4 based on your signature.... do the parameters display anything on your Carly? I can't get anything on my 3.0si Coupe, tech support are apparently resolving it but wondered if any other N52 owners can use that function on theirs? I'm using iOs version of Carly.
Hi
I’m based in Northampton, so not too much of a trek to travel
What does the coding offer?
Forgive my ignorance, I’m a newbie Z4 owner :D :?

Hi Mate,

There's not massive amounts of things you can code, it all depends on what options your car has in the first place, i'm sure others will update with any features i miss out... my coupe was a relatively basic spec!

Headlight washers (if fitted) - turn on/off, change functionality. I turned mine off to save on water!
Boot operation - change how the remote operates the boot, i set mine to one push rather than holding it for 2 secs.
Set up DRLs - only really worth it on Xenon headlights, mine didn't have them but set up on a friends Z4.
Power fold mirrors (if fitted) - set them up to fold when you lock the car.
Beeps and indicator flashing when locking/unlocking
Window operation - allows movement when door is opened or key removed to continue
Turn off bulb checks - useful if you install LED bulbs

Probably a few other bits and pieces and the fault reading/clearing was always pretty useful
hey, thanks for the info
Appreciated
I will bare these in mind and see over the next couple weeks what might appeal to me as I use the car and contact you later if I would like to try a new feature?
If that’s ok?
:D

Yeah no worries... hope you're enjoying your new Coupe!

Anyone with Carly in the Somerset, Avon area, would love the door mirrors to fold in when you lock the car rather than on the button

Hi. I'm based in Peterborough, PE7.

I don't have any experience of using Carly with an E85/86 but anyone is welcome to use it.
