Which Members have Carly and Where?

Got Carly in Christchurch, NZ. In case any lurkers need an excuse to join the forum and ask for help.
 
Just south of Lincoln. Carly has just arrived so I am a bit of a novice with the equipment but willing to help if I can.
 
I'm thinking about buying the App for my Z4 and for my X1. I already have an OBD cable that I got for my bike, it recognises both cars on the free app, I'm just hoping that it'll work fully for coding and diagnosis purposes
 
[ref]ph001[/ref], do you know if I typical obd cable works with carly? I've got the app but I'm struggling to connect with my phone... I'm stumped as to why. It worked with the lite version 🙄

Hey dashbedrock, whereabouts in Leeds are you? I've got the app and a cable but struggle to get it to work 🤔

Hi, I'm in Methley.
I have the app and the WiFi dongle. I don't know anything about the cable version but I'm happy to help if I can.

What system are you using? Android?
 
Initially I just tried the usual dcan adapter from bmcables (ebay) and carly lite (android). It only finds one ecu and can't find any compatible ecu's for coding.

I then bought the full Carly license but had the same issues. It was only when I bought the proper Carly adapter (cable) that it all woked ok.

This seems to be a common problem. Some cables are more equal than others....
I saw this cable recommended again and again on different coding forums, so bought one. Yes, it is expensive, but it has worked perfectly with INPA, NCS and Carly. Other cables seem to be a bit hit & miss, but I'm sure there are others out there that also work fine.

Edit - you also need the adapter to go between the cable and the OBD port on the Z4, if using this USB/OBD cable

Right cool, I'm just in Wakefield so only up the road. I wonder if the WiFi dongle will euro on my e85
 
I wonder if Kis (the OP) would fancy collating all this and putting it into a table on the first post? Save reading through 7 pages! :poke:
 
Hi jabba. Is the offer of helping/coding still open? I live in Salisbury, would be good to see what options are available and to meet another forum member!! :)
