Which maps for Nav?

Hi all, bear with me here...

Have an '05 plate with Nav, will be putting the v32 firmware on later in the week, however I need to know which maps are the correct ones to update to, there are loads of 2012 options, business, professional, high etc, it's slightly confusing!

Which one would I be needing?

2005 is usually a MkIV satnav unit which takes 'High' maps - dealer is only official outlet for the map DVDs. Just check that your satnav is a standard unit, not a mkIII CD unit (the DVD has 'DVD' written on it)

Ah I see, if it were the mkIII unit - which maps would that be?

I assume BMW probably won't have a clue. Or maybe that's just my complete mistrust of dealers shining through.
 
how easy is it to update the firmware?

i was wondering about the navigation in mine after it sent me on a very intersting road on sat that i decided was best to not carry on down! :D
 
I'm not sure yet, I have the v32 disc burned and just waiting to pick the car up on wednesday!

It seems very simple though, a case of, put CD in, wait for it to update, don't interrupt it, complete!
 
yeah thats what i read but im very dubious as i dont want to goose it. id be intersted to hear how you got on and what you did.

what do you get from upgrading the firmware?

It is that simple - did mine a while ago
