Which Karcher

I have the 411A:

Karcher K411A Pressure Washer Specifications
120 Bar Max Pressure
340 liters per hour water flow
1700w long life induction motor
Long 6m high pressure hose for a greater cleaning radius
Trigger Gun Handle and Two-Way Lance

And it does a mighty fine job! Had it for over 10 years, used it on all 4 cars in the household several times a year each..

I realise its now out of date but im sure you can get something equivalent from todays Karcher line up.

Same as my old one, not man enough for snow foaming.

TBH I've never felt the need to use a power washer on a car. I do have the cheapest Karcher that we bought about 8 years ago - only used for blasting the patio/decking, etc (and the power switch broke after ~18 months of infrequent use so I've bypassed it).

Is it a good idea to be blasting mono-blocking with a power washer? I always thought it's supposed to be a bad idea as it blasts out all the sand from between the blocks? Guess it's OK if you intend reapplying sand afterwards...?

Not had a problem doing that, the sand is so embedded that it does not come out with the power washer. The moss does though

I would go for the one that produces the highest pressure. The cheap ones just aren't powerfull enough to remove crap properly. And you will start to despise it.

Adjustable pressure ... mine is 180 bar and would not want to direct that on the wheels, whilst that is nice on the drive though

I have a karcher... it comes with several attachments.. one is a "blaster" that I really would not want to use on the car (but works well on the patio), but the normal jet attachment is fine on the car. I also use the snow foam attachment and that works nicely on the karcher too.

What pressure do you need for snow foaming?

At 80 bar, it dribbles, at 120 bar it is ok-is, at 150 bar it properly sprays, at 160 bar I am covered by the reflection from the car

However I see something on QVC today that had my car not just been bleeding my wallet dry I would have got. Its a battery powered, rechargeable jet wash 8) It even has its own water tank (17l) so you don't even have to have a water hose 8) 8) Its mains rechargeable but can be powered from the cigarette lighter.

On QVC it was £145 inc delivery, the website has them for £149. Its called a Mobi V17 if I remember correctly.

Might be worth considering?

That looks great for me, living in a flat with no water or power supply near the car. Will look into it further...
