I've been lucky enough to own some stunning machines over the years & yep the porche was air cooled perfection, but I think it just came at the wrong time. To be honesr I got it at a seriously cheap price & knew I could make a few bob on it.tomscott said:Ast MD/owner mark is a long time customer of mine, top bloke & very good at his work, me personally though I wouldn't have one. AST did all my businesses vinyl work & it's second to none, but I've also got a childhood mate based in Carlisle who wrapped the entire front end of my r26.r in clear for protection on trackdays. Again the work was top notch but it never polished up as nice as real paint. Got to say though, in well over 100+ laps of the ring (and other trackdays as well) not once did a stone go through to mark the paint.
I'd only do a vinyl wrap if I wanted a one off colour but didn't want a respray, say like lime gren or orange that wasn't available as a factory option on the car.
Interestingly on a grey/silver car you could put a clear matte/satin wrap on & create bmw's frozen grey-very cool!
Back on topic I honestly think the lines of the Z4 suit silver or black the best, strange as I've vowed never to own either colour again in my life!
The Mini and the X5 are pretty cool, really well done. My mate works at AST and showed me around both of the cars but they do end up breaking quite a few of the snap fittings because they are hard to get off. Getting my roof done in 3M CF in the next couple of months at AST, when the weather gets better. They are a top company, and have quite a few locations around Britain.
BTW can't believe you got rid of that gorgeous Porsche!! Look like such perfection to detail in its restoration!

Cheers mate, I've been very lucky with my cars over the years but seeing as I'm hijacking the thread a bit I'll wait until I pick my car out before putting it all in a post on heretomscott said:Some awesome machines there Cragswinter![]()

I say THE white Z4 ///M roadster, as there was only one registered in the UK. If only I could find the owner and persuade him/her to sell![]()
Interlagos is sexy but it's hard to photograph it like it looks in real life. This is a good pic.jrainlay said:D6GMB said:Has to be Interlagos Blue, but i am biased of course![]()

buzyg said:On a murky muddy winters day give me Imola Red, however. We had friends down at the week end. Drove the mates missus out to the local breakfast haunt on Saturday morning. Parked up in glorious crisp Cornish winter sunshine. Hopped out and the Z looked fantastic sitting there comfortable, in the green and pleasant landscape, accepting admiring glances and comments form passers by. That day Silver Grey was the best possible colour for any Z.
