Which Ipods work with the Intravee II?

Does anybody know which ipods work with the Intravee II? I'm not a big ipod user and am currently running a nano. Just wondered which larger capacity Ipod to buy.

I have a 5th gen 80gb and works well. Looks as if even latest 7th gen still use the old connector. Not aware of any issues with newer ones.

If its going to live in the car though buy a used one with the capacity you need and save some cash.
 
This is the problem. I was looking at 5th gen 80gb. But as above some clearly work and others requie adaptors.srhutch can you tell me the serial number of yours?
 
Jam pudding I believe all require a charging adaptor, basically will allow charging of iPod which is not standard on intravee and kca alpine setup.

If you look here you'll see the charging adaptor - it's only needed for certain iPods (mentioned on the page) and you can get cheaper versions via eBay

If you're going the Intravee/Alpine KCA-420i/iPod route, you should be aware that there's a known issue whereby, if the iPod becomes completely discharged while the car is switched off, the Alpine KCA-420i doesn't detect it and turn on the charging current - there's a simple 1 wire mod for the KCA-420i that fixes this issue

I used an 80gb Classic believe it was 5th Gen and I didn't require any adaptor for charging.
My KCA-420i also had the single wire mod that Perry speaks of.
 
I have the Intravee II and a modded KCA-420i installed in my car. But I am using my wifes nano currently. I just need to get a larger capacity ipod, so 5th gen 80gb should do the trick.

Problem i found is getting a larger capacity is it runs slower.. and it does have a limit on the number of tracks it can display.. something like 255 - but this could be wrong.

My 16GB nano with the music loaded as the apple formate (so are about 2mb each) already hits the limit when i browse by song.
