Which interior wrap?

I have full fat beige interior on my coupe. Whilst I love the light feeling to it all, the aluminium trim that also features which I’m turning my attention to. Managed to source a spare 3 x piece (dash, lights, gear surround) alu trim set from eBay for not a lot of money and thinking I might try my hand at wrapping.

Thoughts are some kind of dark brushed aluminum wrap or gloss piano might look good with the beige door cars, seats, plastics and carpet, but what do you think? Any other options that might work with my interior?

Other options...Dip-Printing?

PS I really don’t like fake carbon fibre weave

I used the brushed black aluminium on my interior door handles. It’s not bad - not sure I’d want it on the whole dash.

Have you considered real carbon fibre? It shouldn’t be too hard to carbon skin the dash and then polish the resin.

Not sure I want carbon fibre real or fake tbh. Get what you’re saying around the expanse of dash too. Worth considering with whatever choice.

What about leather? :fuelfire:
I’d quite like that. My old MC had the factory leather weave type trims and they looked and felt really good. How easy would it be to wrap though?

Not sure mate, kits available tho https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232363045097

Also you could just wait for this sort of thing as well https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353296528013

Thanks. Yeah, Jembo sent me a similar link. Want to make this good but cost effective. It’s only a spare trim set so can experiment a little if a I need to.

I saw a car that had trim wrapped in black wood vinyl. Looked amazing

Greg81 - Black/ash coloured wood vinyl looks amazing! Its on the shortlist.

Minimental - Yes, funnily enough I’ve also been thinking about other ways such as anodising it a darker colour. Or going for the full pro paint for OEM finish (think Piano Black but maybe a few shades lighter). Is it actually aluminium as a trim finish?

I quite like the beige its just a bit too much beige...if it was mine I'd be trying to get a couple of black door cards swap the leather bit over and a couple of plastic trim bits and go for a look sort of like this...excuse the crude photo edit.

Black Ash type finish would certainly be different, although personally I'd still go for Piano Black.

Interesting test, Dan. Maybe complete doors in black (as I think they’re a PITA to deconstruct!).
Think I def want to go darker on the dash though. Help blend the headunit and dials.

This feels like it’s winning at the moment.

Also considering a swap for the OEM wood, as I think that that would look great with the beige and Zed owners seem to despise it! If anybody wants to swap their spare wood trim for aluminium then also drop me a PM

A few options from Photoshop. Gotta say, I'm leaning towards a darker, flat grey aluminium or dark wood, as they sets off the beige in a less harsh way.

For the sake of £9 and half an hour of your time, why not take a punt on this and wrap a piece and see how it goes. If you love it, you could go for some higher quality stuff...
