Hi all, as im going to put my different alloys on in the near future,i thought while they are off why not grease the brake pipes(good idea or not?)-if good which grease would you recommend?-at the mo in the garage i have a coppergrease,a castrol multi purpose grease and vaseline  -any thoughts?-thanks

Andy, why would you want to grease the brake pipes? Not something I've ever thought about doing and see no advantage in doing.

Ah, I see your point, but personally wouldn't bother. Anyway, grease, any grease, would wash away quite quickly. You'd need some sort of underseal and would then need to do the pipes along the whole length of the underneath of the car.
Still wouldn't bother though.

Andy - can't you just go and watch tv?

Never greased a brake pipe in my life. If I did I'd use a waterproof grease and only in the vulnerable spots.

Think of the dirt and goo you would pick up off the roads. I wouldnt

I would get your wheels fitted pronto :) and post some pics

Andy thats a old trick if you had rusty brake pipes some emmery paper & some grease to hid it ! Lol

Not a lot of pipework visible with the wheels off anyway ... unless you are going to grease the flexible hoses
