Hey all,
Looking to change all the fluids on the car and have come to gearbox and diff oil selection. Normally I would just go for Castrol's latest variations but thought I'd ask what the consensus is on here first. From my research, the car needs 75w90 oil that meets BMW spec MTF-LT-2.
Does that mean the gearbox and diff oil would be the same? (since I don't have a LSD)
I can see Castrol selling 2 types:
1. Castrol TRANSMAX Axle Long Life 75W-90 - which appears to be marketed as Axle Oil
2. Castrol TRANSMAX Manual Multivehicle 75W-90 - which I presume is for the manual box
There is also Red Line to consider, I've heard nothing but high praise for their products and they have this for sale: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283038188495?hash=item41e66403cf:g:jQgAAOSw3jtbO2c0
Any input is highly appreciated, just want to make sure I buy the best quality products that I can, seeing as there's not much in it price wise.
Thanks!
