Which Ferrari is it?

Was in a Ferrari dealership today and they had a customer car on the ramp. Not a Ferrari I've ever seen before. The sales guy said it as very rare. Was sold as a road car, but it was so noisy it could not be driven on roads and was banned from all circuits. As a result it was only usable on Ferarri's own track or private non regulated circuits. Standard Ferrari red, newish looking car, looked like a road car but up in the air so hard to judge. Bottom was 100% flat aside ducts to pull air up to the brakes.

Was on transport tyres and going to be shipped away by truck soon.

Long shot but I'm curious about what it could be??
 
Could it have been a Ferrari FXX,i Googled track only Ferrari's and came up with this.

Could be. I wiki'd that one earlier and it suggests track only. The guy did mention £500k per annum track membership to use it.
Just dont remember the front wings looking like that.


ksher - actually I was looking at a Maserati GranTurismo Coupe, but got sidelined. Started a hunt for something a bit special :)
Tested a DB9 today too - very tasty
 
I don't think the FXX was ever sold as a road car was it? I thought owners weren't even allowed to keep them themselves and Ferrari looked after them?

Correct. Owners can only drive their cars on the tracks. I don't think it will be able to see one in UK.

It could be a F50.

it's not road legal, a kind of continuation of fxx project, based on 599, prior to 599 gto
 
i bet you it was a 458 challenge racer, these can be brought by anyone with enough cheese.

Think that's it. Looked exactly like that - we have a winner (assuming it's not road legal, track only ,etc) :thumbsup:

Yup this is a track only car but the american owners just drive them on the street, lol!!

They dont even have a park brake!! Lol

Awesome car....
