Which eibach kit?

Hi folks,

I recently bought a z4 coupe, which I'm totally in love with, but I would like to lower it a little. I notice demon tweaks offer two kits from eibach, http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/lowering-springs/car/bmw/z4/2007/3-0 one of which claims to drop front and rear 30mm the other claims to drop the front 30mm and the rear only 20mm. Does anyone have any words of wisdom regarding the pros and cons of each choice.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is only one kit for the E86. The other is for the roadster. This is the kit I have on mine.

There's only one Eibach kit for non M Z4s:

As you'll see from this link - all models bar the 2.0 are listed. The 2.0 should be listed, as the fitment is the same.....

As per the link above added by srhutch I had the pro kit fitted to my roadster after having it recommended by several people and its lowered noticeably however i don't have my car so can't show you any pics of the difference but I'm sure there are plenty threads with pics if you do a search

I think there was a coupe specific kit. the spring rate on the rears was different due to the different weights of the hood.

Looking for lowering my Zed 3.0 , I am having a look at Eibach website, I notice there are many references, .. and lowering depends on the model ..

3.0 si coupé : E10-20-010-05-22 20 mms rear, 30 mms front

for my Z4 roadster 3.0 : E10-20-010-01-22 ... 30 mms for both rear and front .. and it sounds too low for me

That link needs to be a bit more specific - are they specifically for the Sport ? If so then that seems about right if the coupe springs are different as the Sport (roadster) is already 15mm or so lower than non-Sport. When I fitted Eibacks the car dropped a further 15mm all round, though the kit actually says it drops the car 30mm.

To those that have lowered their Zeds, how do you find speed bumps? I cringe every time I go over any of them in my non-lowered Zed.

I avoid them if at all possible, but just take them real slow. Only a very few scrape, generally the really narrow bump ones rather than proper humps - usually in car parks or side roads, probably done on the cheap by some jakey with no idea of the regulations about sizes :x

I avoid them.

If I have to, they're attacked at an angle.

Almost beached my car on one in Waterloo. Probably had a good cry for about 10 minutes after.

But then I throw a lovely piece of asphalt at the car and it becomes worth it.
