Hi,

the one I had for my fireblade wouldn't have been up to the job... Sadly sold with the bike... Should never have sold it!!! But that was some time ago!

Hi,

Thanks for the quick replies.
I had a look at the Argos link for the 3.8 one and spotted the 5.0 for £37 on sale. Of course when you go to try and buy it nowhere in the uk has it, surprise suprise...
Anyway I think the 3.8 should be fine as I use the car quite a bit but it will come in handy when I have to use public transport one week of the month and when on holiday.

Thanks again...

I use an MXS 3.8 got it off ebay when I brought our Z4 following advice from some one at my local BMW dealership he printed off a picture mines identical,,plug in and forget :happyclap: ,left zed hooked up all over Xmas as I had bronchitis ugh :fightwall:

I am using CTEK MXS5.0 now, but i have to upgrade polar version. Normal mxs 5 cables are like solid ice when we have -25 celsius..
If you are planning to use ctek in - celsius i recommend that polar version (orange)

Hi,

Thanks for the replies...

We have colds spells but nothing on that level. I think the lowest it's been here is -10 around four years ago - averages around 0* In winter.
My car lives in a garage so it never really get to minus figures.
I purchased the MXS5.0 and got it today - posted for £58 from Amazon.

Cheers...

I've just ordered an MXS5.0 in hopes to save the crap battery in my 5 series ... I'll send it back if it doesn't bring it back from the brink of death and just order a new battery.

Does anyone know what the difference is between these two:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-CTE-MXS5-0-automatic-temperature-compensation/dp/B004ZWV1JI

http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-MXS-5-0-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B00FC42HAA/#productDetails

or are they actually the same unit, just from different sellers?

Ta

Specs look the same so £8.75 in your favour if you buy the cheaper one

I ordered the one in the second link along with the cigarette lighter connector and the 2.5m extension lead. I paid around £87 for the three but got 3.5% cashback through quidco and an extra £10 on top of that from Quidco too so all three items for around £74

Picking it up on Friday and fitting it Saturday :D

Looks like the 800 has been replaced by the 0.8 :?

How long is the cable on these, and it comes with a three pin plug, right ?
