Which Coupe spoiler?

Apologies if this has been covered in the past, but couldnt find a proper thread that answered my question

I'm trying to find a carbon boot spoiler for an E86. Seen a couple on eBay from China, but I don't trust the fitment. Looks like theres a gap at the ends, also remember a member on here having the same issue after buying one.

Searched the web too, but havent found anything really suitable yet.

Anyone have any ideas? Pics too would be greatly appreciated!
 
Good luck finding a genuine one, I'm still looking 2 years on. There's a guy on here in Europe somewhere who makes a high quality replica, at about £400 delivered it's certainly not cheap though.

Joycee - where did you get the front splitter in your signature pic? I'm also looking for one of those too!
 
Even the OEM one isn't amazing for fit because of the shape of the boot. Many who buy them use 3M tape to stick it down but most that I have seen have lifted.

For example this is Estorils old car... This was pretty much a show car in concourse condition was absolutely lovely but as you can see his lifted a touch

Here is mine it was bonded instead and fit much better

I don't know what the china spoilers a like but from what ive read on here the fitment issue is that they are not tapered but the BMW OEM ones weren't brilliant anyway and people don't like to bond because you cant remove it without repainting... But lets be honest it looks amazing.... Perfectly matches the lines from the bonnet down the roof and to the rear. One of my favourite aspects of mine :thumbsup:

I think they work well if you have contrasting paintwork... otherwise many colour match it like estorils above. Mine works I think because of the contrast. But all is down to opinion of course.

Do you know if the OEM one is still available to buy? I can't find much information anywhere online..

I'm open to anything that fits better than what I've heard the chinese ones do. Don't like the idea of it looking like a cheap add-on
 
The oem one was discontinued in 2012. Like you I don't fancy a cheap Chinese replica one as many have said they're bad quality and fitment.

If you want one enough then you could contact forum member Alphaflight who has manufactured a small number of carbon fibre replicas, for 406 euros delivered to the UK. People who have bought one seem pleased with them, there is a thread somewhere with pics.

It's the rubber strip you get off ebay. I've had a carbon one before but they get trashed on big bumps. This rubber strips takes some stick.
