Which Code Reader?

Creator 310+ and newer model 410 are good for BMW cars range.
I also have BMW Scanner 1.4 that runs on a Laptop and BMW INPA, NCS Expert suite of software, the latter can be problematic setting it up.
I wanted something that was capable of scanning all makes and capable of coding modules in a less clunky fashion than those mentioned earlier, so invested in a Launch Tablet Scanner, expensive at £300 but extremely capable

Right, finally got the bmw scanner today and it took a while to get the drivers updated and the software working. The issue was that windows 10 does not allow to install not certified drivers which made the software not recognise the scanner.

Finally managed to get it up and running and even do some coding. Now the turn signals blink when opening/closing the car. Brilliant!
Does anyone know if and where the option for comfort turn signals is? I’d like them to flash 3 times instead of only 1.

Not an option on the prefacelift. I searched for ages!

The prefacelift rear lights use both halves of the circle for sidelights but only the outer half for normal braking. If you break very very hard it puts the inner half on as well I believe.
What actually looks better is the whole circle lighting up on normal braking.
Go into the LCM menu and select side lights as brake lights.

Mine is a 2006 e86 so it should be possible, according to the interwebs.

Anything else worth coding?

Mines a 07 coupe also, and I couldn’t find a way through scanner to do this either. Interested to see if you manage it

Oh sorry, then yes, should be an option in the GM5 section I think.
And ignore me wittering on about brake lights too.

I used a Creator C500 for years, it was OK but very basic so I got a Foxwell NT 530. I used it to bleed my ABS which was easy and it found the break in continuity on my rear CD player but I've not even read the manual yet so can't comment on the shedload of other stuff it claims to do on the box. It's already paid it's £150 back.

Unfortunately did not manage to find the option for the comfort indicators. Apparently this software is not able to do it. So will have to look into other software or just pay someone to get it done, probably the easiest option.

On the face of it, where I am is -

Creator 310+ / 410 seem to be decent standalone units for BMW.

Launch Tablet Scanner looks great, and useful for other cars too - only issue is the price.

BMW INPA, NCS Expert Suite seems like a very good option for me, and I have downloaded it on a Windows 11 laptop... but the cables seem to say Window 7, 8, 10 compatiblity. Can INPA be run on Windows 11 or do I need to dig out an old laptop for it? If INPA can be run on Windows 11 then does it need a special cable or will it run fine with the Window 7,8,10 cables eg "OBD2 to USB ELM327 Cable Scan Tool" which doesn't seem to advertize W11 compatiblity?

Is INPA dangerous and should I try to find and use ISTA insteas?

Can't hurt to try it. All that INPA software and cables used to say "only compatible with Windows 7 and prior" but I never had an issue running it on Windows 10. I bet it will work with Windows 11.
