Morning all,
As part of my brake upgrade i need the larger front protection plates, plus I may well replace the rears so they’re new (although the same part as existing).
From bmw the fronts are over £100 each!
Rears are cheaper around £27 from bmw.
I can get them on AUTODOC for around £20 for febi bilstein fronts and rears for £11.
Are these parts that need to be bmw, or can I get Febi bilstein? Anyone know who made them for bmw?
There are loads of makes on AUTODOC.
I want good quality that will last and not corrode and oe spec.
Also anti rattle clips. ATE the OE. Manufacturer?
Rear discs, Bosch?
Rear pads, Brembo?
Thanks

Any ideas please anyone?
Slight update too..
The Febi fronts were incorrect so eliminated but lots of others on AUTODOC. Vertu bmw eBay store has 20% off currently so £230 for the 4. Still a lot and unsure of any difference?

I'd buy the cheapest ones I could find if it was me. Its only pressed plate with a bit of paint on it. Give them another coat of hammerite if you are really worried.

Thanks Rockhopper, I might order bmw and a cheapy to compare if I can get free returns!
Seems a crazy price difference.

I had the BMW ones for the si at the back, nice and shiny black but have not seen an aftermarket one to compare though …

Rear is a big job though with the bearings out

I’ve had loads of these plates..you can’t really tell until you’ve got one in your hands…I’ve had really thin poorly pressed versions and ones much heavier with sophisticated pressings ..in steel and alloy…

FWIW the OE BMW / Mini on our F56 just fell off..
