Which brake pads?

I had Textar ePads on my last car - worked just fine, no noise and much less dust than OEM.

I need front pads just been quoted £90 for front pads only at my local dealer seams a bit expensive, any one got any suggestions on other makes of pads that are as good if not better :D

I used EBC greenstuff pads on my lotus & was pleased with their performance, lot less brake dust than original as well.
Regards

I fitted Pagids on all 4 corners from ECP, cost less than £48 for the lot on the same model of Zed to you.

Pagid & Textar are made by the same people although the Pagids tend to be a bit cheaper, both brands supply to OEM.

V happy, no squeal & seem to have less brake dust than the previous pads.

Actually, for main dealers thats not too bad a price.

Just put Pagids on the front. Seem much better than the OEM or whatever was on there before, but they seem very dust heavy.

I was assuming that was a fitted price - was that £90 just for the pads themselves?

Just fitted these myself and I am impressed so far but yet to try them in anger.

I need new pads for the front of my '03 3.0 litre.

The mileage is just coming up to 70k so they are unlikely to be the originals but are probably oem.

I don't drive like a loon so don't need track biased pads - low dust is probably my highest priority (that & maintaining the oem feel).

Are EBC green/redstuff worth paying extra for? The Ultimax2 looks promising but I don't know if they're available for the Z4.

EBC Greenstuff. 3 sets in a row on the Zed and do a perfect job with very low dust You'd want higher (red) pad if you tracked it, but I don't.

I used Akebono Euro Ceramic pads. They feel very much the same as OEM, but with very little brake dust.

Not sure about Akebono's availability in the UK but it sounds like ceramic is the way to go.

The EBC Redstuff are ceramic & are only £5 more than the Greenstuff. I may not use the extra braking capability but I'll certainly appreciate the low dust factor.

PAGID!
Cheap doesnt mean Crap. In tests they always perform well with higher priced pads and there the lowest on Dust on the market.
