Which brake pads for 3.0si?

So with an upcoming road trip around Europe through the Pyrenees and Alps I will be doing a lot of Alpine driving and a trip to the Nurburgring will be included. It has made me think that I would like to upgrade my braking. Looking on the forum at which best pad to get seems very varied.. EBC are mentioned a lot but some say crap, some say great, very confusing. Performance Friction seems to be another brand but seemed to have discontinued the pad. I’ve found PF pads for the Z4M not sure if they would fit 3.0si calipers? Also would it be necessary to upgrade the fluid?

Advise would be grateful TIA
 
Fresh high temp fluid and yellow ebc pads in the front with the correct aggressive bed in procedure will see you just fine in all conditions on your trip .
You'll get conflicting advice but I've experienced no brakes on the ring by Adenauer forest when I didn't bed them in aggressively and I don't recommend it , obviously as I'd done half a lap using the brakes heavily and then let them cool off they were fine for the rest of the trip , ignore this light braking advice for a thousand mile advice , I've been going to the ring since it was a fiver a lap and you could drive straight on from your parking spot in the car park by the way .
 
Been using Yellowstuff along with ATE TYP200 fluid since I got the car and they're solid. A little bit wooden when cold but once the pads get warm they're brilliant. Certainly no worse than OEM style ones cold stopping power wise, just not much feeling in the pedal.
 
Everyone has their favourite but I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with EBC, even with their more expensive compounds. I think they are really aimed at consumer level and most pros wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. PF are certainly good and the .11 compound is wonderful £/performance ratio. Carbon Lorraines good too but expensive, as are some of the higher end pagids.

Performance friction haven’t discontinued the pad there was a mistake on their website. The guy had just emailed me.
 
which performance friction compound were you looking at?

I can recommend PF 08 compound, work well and took all the track abuse i could throw at them. though they are relatively expensive and might not be the best for road driving.

having used EBC yellows i would think they would do the job - if it was a dedicated track car id recommend a more track oriented pad, but for fast road and the nurburgring they'd be ok.
