Where's my old Zed??

it wouldn't bother me. its only a car. if i saw an old car that was a bit of a wreck i would feel momentarily a bit sad for the new owner as i try to keep my cars in good working order and they didnt realise what they had. but it would only be a fleeting moment. if you've sold it then you have already made the subconscious decision to move on. i guess if you were forced to sell then its a bit annoying. if you've moved on because its old/broken/wanted newer etc then you've moved on.

I had to sell one of my bikes that I owned for 7 years as I couldnt justify it sitting there and not getting used after I bought my new one.
We done the deal after taking the guy for a test ride (he had no insurance so he wasnt riding it) and he was coming back the next weekend to collect.
My heart sank when he turned up with touring type gear and a flip up style helmet.
This was my sportsbike and this guy just didnt suit it.

I have to agree with the not finding out part.

I used to have this;

It was my pride and joy. Stuck a 2.9lt 24v V6 cosworth engine in her and she was fun! The alloys are not to everyone’s tastes but at least they were period. The interior hadn’t been touched since she left the factory and was lovely and old but in good condition.

Fast forward a few years and I get a call from some guy who now owns her. Somehow he got my number and wanted to ask me a few questions about the engine install. I didn’t have an issue with talking to him about this and proceeded to ask how the car was. This is where my heart fell out.

He was very pleased to tell me that the interior had been ripped out and replaced with a 1996 ford sierra interior, the velour type. :violent1:

He also proudly said the “old” alloys had gone and he’s replaced them with some ford probe alloys. :violent1: :headbang: They are those horrible 3 spoke 90’s nastyness. I couldn’t believe this had been done to the car and now hope I never see it again.
