Where's all the snow???

boy am I kicking myself, I was kind of talked into, and ended up talking myself into selling my Z4MC a few months ago with one of the main factors it being off the road for 5 months when the white stuff comes like it did last year/earlier this year....

we're now in xmas week and I could still VERY happily be drving the rear wheel driven monster!

I eneded up buying a Passat R36 (estate) just before I sold the Z, and it's a fantstic car, ticks a load more boxes that the Z4 couldn't, but its not ticking the important ones (for me) unfortunately :headbang: :headbang:

all this added with the fact that the Z4 ended up being a pain in the ar$e to sell and having to drop my price several times makes me wish even more that I'd kept it :cry: :cry: :cry:

Seriously missing that car :cry:
 
My previous Z4 went just before Christmas last year just as the snow came down. I was travelling weekly to Norwich so need a replacement and got myself a 190 celica which to be fair did everything i asked, after the Norwich contract ended decided i realized i missed the z so started looking. Don't think i will be giving this one up in a hurry :)
 
Honestly listening to some people talk about the snow you'd think we live in Siberia. I cannot understand why you would sell a Z4MC because of a bit of snow. Last year we had the worst winter for 20 years and there were only 5 days i couldn't use the Zed. Oh and I live on high ground in North Notts and we had over 20 inches of it this time last year.
 
Ice or snow and I'm on the poverty shuttle (bus). Not risking my poor zed. Especially after a huge pile up on the M90 yesterday on black ice.

My winter run around is still leaking gear box oil so can't run it yet :headbang:

I drive my ZM4C year-round anyway, and I'm only 30 minutes away from some of the greatest driving roads in Wales & England.
 
Touché :lol:

... And of course North America is stuffed full of great roads through fantastic scenery.

The X5's I had my eye on didn't work out and I stumbled accross the R36 and my boss has one which I really like so thought I'd try it, plus being the estate would be good for bikes.

You bought an R36 - a great choice. Chris Harris was always very complimentary when he ran a long termer for the now defunct Driver's Republic. I imagine that it's a bit muted compared to the M, but I can imagine that it's very quick in a real world sense, rather than a once a year on a track kind of sense. Presumably you have the DSG version (did they even come as a manual - I'm not sure)? And how is the ride?

Shame you sold yours on the promise of snow - perhaps I should be grateful nobody bought mine as it was for sale at the same time. Talking of snow, I fitted winter tyres to my commuter and I'm desperate to try them out but so far, nothing.
 
With some winter tyres and a hardtop you can use the Z4M roadster without any problems in snow.... Still; a Quattro RS5 with winter tyres would have more grip ;)

Yeah it is a great car, superb to drive. The DSG box is a cracking piece of kit, super smooth in auto and pretty much instant in manual. I haven't tested the launch control yet and have yet to actually put it through its paces on the twisties, although my boss assures me it's fantastic (he's got the saloon) tbh I think this is why I'm not feeling it, it's not the type of car I want to chuck around the corners and rag.

It is great for taking any passengers and shifting anything though :rofl:

I'm not sure if they did do a manual, I don't think they did for the 36
