Where to lift the car?

Hi, are there any places where I could have my car lifted so I could do some work? I want to change o2 sensor after cat, remove CDV and it would be nice to stand under the car or at least have the car on the high jack stands, or maybe on a car ramp.
I asked in one "car repairs garage" but they didn't want to let me use their lift.

Is there any place, let's say within 45mins radius from Gatwick, where I can lift up my car and do some work? Of course I want to pay.

I think you'll struggle due to liability issues etc. I know I wouldn't let someone "use" my 2 post lift for their own purposes.

Interesting. I'm pretty much Gatwick as well so be good if there is something more 'this way'. Acton is a tad far!

Guilford sounds good but the thread there is from 2009 and I don't thing this garage is still operating as their website doesn't work anymore. But I could be wrong

Okay so I had a bit of a look into this and so far I've found:

I used to use the Bristol branch, it was a bit grotty but it was cheap and the people on hand helped me do stuff I wouldn't on my own.

However, they closed due to lack of business. The weekends were relatively busy but not enough you couldn't get a slot last minute. The rest of the time I think it was just too quiet to make enough profit as DIY'ers have day jobs...

Looks like the address is WinSpeed now... so pretty sure Guildford place has closed... poo.

I haven't called them.

Pitsratgarage is a bit pricey, they charge £24 per hour for a bay with "2 post lift".
Majority of work you would do with the car could be done with normal stands, however it's not so comfortable to work.

To change oxygen sensor and remove CDV I would need 1-2 hours.
2 car stands costs £10 and it should be enough to do the work.

Good to know this places but it looks like it might be not worth the money sometimes :thumbsdown:
