What about a UK road trip with classic car hire? - quite a few firms on the net therefore good range of cars to choose from. I used to do Scotland in October half term and mostly had good crisp clear weeks.

Was looking into NC500 in a Caterham but it’s expensive and they limit the mileage so that put me off a bit, and I’d rather do it in my M3 but don’t fancy the drive to get there!

Precisely why i've yet to do it , i know id enjoy it but even from Lancs ive over 7 hours & 400 miles just to get to the start , i can be over the channel in less :P & whilst i'm still enjoying driving the places nearer home ( Dales / Snowdonia / Lake District all within a hour ) its staying on my "places yet to visit" list .
The Cairngorms & major Lochs are worth visiting if you havent before , we did 5 days in first ZM over Glenshee & miltary road to Braemar ( a great UK drive) Glencoe , Lochness , Loch Lomond

It’s even further from Surrey haha

I think I just need to book t and go for it, I wish I could just get my car transferred there and then fly up to meet it haha

Thanks ill check a few of these out, I forgot about the lake district, that could be a great shout and somewhere i have never been either.
Personally, I would stay local 'to heart' and do a UK road trip. How could you forget about the Lakes! :D If you wish a memorable 30th with the lady of your dreams and ticking all the romantic boxes as you progress through the region, just start with the Lakes. Book a B&B around Ambleside, do a restaurant and go to the cinema (you can drink beer whilst watching!), next day do the exploring, have picnic and venture north to Scotland - Edinburgh (and Glasgow is equally as good). Lots of goings on there and shopping stuff (unfortunately, you will need to allow for this). But anyway, sorted. Everyone is happy and if this weather continues, pick your slow boat route back!

Suggest to drive her overnight up to Loch Ness, then take the A87 out to Skye to end up at the place Bonne Prince Charlie stayed the night before leaving for Ireland

near The Flodigarry Hotel, Isle of Skye, Flodigarry, Portree IV51 9HZ

The drive there is breathtaking, the hotel a real old world home from home, fab food, fab location

If you've not done too much mileage in a Caterham a road trip like this could be 'make or break'! We would quite happily use our Caterham for a day trip but as a couple touring then it would have to be the Zed. I'd go for an early 60's TR or Austin Healey. Lakes good or a circuit through the lakes; boarders/Northumberland and North Yorks - all those great trans pennine routes

Trip to Spa. Similar cost to Nurburgring. Much nicer town. So you can do other interesting stuff in the evening and enjoy the best circuit I have driven, during the day.

What about brooklands? Brooklands hotel and spa is really rather nice. You can be in the jacuzzi overlooking the Mercedes experience centre with v8s doing donuts on the skid pan. They also have a mercedes museum which is really good. Also Brooklands... the track and museum loads of cool cars including sennas honda F1 car. They also have an aircraft museum with concorde etc pretty cool place.
